Heat Pumps & Air Handlers in Sherman Oaks

Sherman Oaks residents and local businesses rely on heat pumps to handle both the intense San Fernando Valley summer heat and cooler winter nights. Because heat pumps serve as a year-round heating and cooling solution, keeping them in proper working order is not something that can wait for a convenient season. Common heat pump issues in Sherman Oaks properties include refrigerant leaks, failing reversing valves, and systems that struggle to keep up with demand during peak temperatures.

Season Control HVAC has been locally owned and operating in Greater Los Angeles since 2001, and our team understands the specific demands that Valley conditions place on these systems. With over 25 years of licensed HVAC work across the region, we help homeowners and business owners make informed decisions about heat pump repair, maintenance, and replacement. If you are planning your next move, we are here to help you evaluate your options honestly.

Sherman Oaks sits in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, where summer highs regularly push past 100 degrees and winter lows can dip enough to require reliable heating. This climate makes heat pumps a practical choice for many properties, but it also puts heavy stress on equipment. The housing mix in Sherman Oaks includes older single-family homes, mid-century ranch-style houses, and newer construction, each presenting different considerations for heat pump sizing and ductwork compatibility. A system that worked well in a 2,000-square-foot home when it was first installed may no longer be the right fit after renovations or as equipment ages. Nearby communities like Burbank, Calabasas, and Agoura Hills share similar Valley conditions, and we serve those areas as well. In business since 2001, with over 25 years of HVAC service across Greater Los Angeles, Season Control holds California contractor license #795799 and maintains a 4.9 rating from our customers.

Heat Pumps & Air Handlers in Sherman Oaks - FAQ

How do I know when to repair my heat pump versus replacing it?

Several factors guide this decision: the age of the unit, the cost of the repair relative to the value of the system, how frequently problems have occurred, and whether the equipment still meets your heating and cooling needs. If a single repair approaches half the cost of a new system, or if the unit is past its expected service life and losing efficiency, replacement often makes more practical sense. We walk through these numbers with you so you can make a clear decision.

What size heat pump do I need for my Sherman Oaks home?

Sizing depends on your home's square footage, insulation quality, window exposure, duct condition, and the local climate. A system that is too small will run constantly without reaching your set temperature, while an oversized unit will short-cycle and wear out faster. We perform a load calculation specific to your property before recommending equipment.

How often should a heat pump be serviced?

We recommend professional heat pump maintenance at least once a year, though twice a year is ideal given that the system handles both heating and cooling duties in the Valley. Regular service checks catch refrigerant issues, electrical wear, and airflow problems before they turn into costly failures.

Can a heat pump handle the extreme summer heat in the San Fernando Valley?

Yes, modern heat pumps are designed to operate effectively in high temperatures. However, the system must be properly sized, installed, and maintained to perform reliably when Valley temperatures spike above 100 degrees. Older or undersized units may struggle, which is one reason we evaluate the full picture before recommending a course of action.

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Seasons Control. From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire process was seamless and exceeded expectations. Tomar was truly exceptional. He took the time to carefully listen to all of my concerns and specific needs for both my daughter and me. His attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. The installation crew, led by Pablo, delivered outstanding workmanship. Their communication was clear and timely throughout the entire project. I appreciated their integrity and commitment to doing the job right. They treated our home with care and respect, and the end result was high-quality work that we can trust. I highly recommend Seasons Control to anyone looking for a company that combines technical expertise with excellent customer service. Thank you, Tomar and Pablo, for making this such a positive and stress-free experience. Thank You!

Tomer was on time, and very quickly diagnosed our problem. We have an air conditioner that seemed to have a leak and he gave us all scenarios, and explained everything until we understood how it worked and what we could do in the event of anything else happening to it. I believe he saved us money thanks to his great communication. Now, we understand the unit that we currently have, and what all our options are. Tomer gave us a feeling of relief, because he's definetinely a pro at this. We will be using this company again after our experience with Season Control Hesting & Air Conditioner. Like Tomer said "Now YOU control the air, not the AIR controlling you!" Lol!! Thanks again Tomer!

I have recently replaced an almost 30-year-old HVAC with this servicer through multiple quotations. I am so glad to make the right call. Its quotation is very competitive and the technician(Eric) is well-experienced and knowledgeable in walking me through the whole process in detail. Upon installation is complete, they did thorough testing to check if everything went well; and called me a few days later to follow up with the performance of the unit. I could not be happier with this smooth transaction.
