Covina sits in the San Gabriel Valley, where winter temperatures can drop enough to make a reliable furnace essential for comfort and safety. Many homes in the area range from mid-century construction to newer builds, meaning furnace systems vary widely in age, configuration, and condition. Older gas furnaces may develop ignition issues, cracked heat exchangers, or failing blower motor capacitors, while newer systems can still experience thermostat faults or airflow restrictions that reduce efficiency. Homeowners who are planning ahead benefit from scheduling annual furnace maintenance or a tune-up before peak winter demand, when repair schedules tend to fill up fast. Season Control HVAC understands these patterns from serving Covina and nearby communities like Alhambra, Arcadia, and Azusa for more than two decades. Our familiarity with the housing stock and climate conditions in the San Gabriel Valley means we arrive prepared for the most common issues and can recommend the right course of action without delay.

Furnace Installation & Repair in Covina - FAQ

Should I try to fix my furnace myself or call a professional?

Some basic tasks like checking your thermostat settings, replacing a dirty filter, or verifying that your pilot light is lit can be done safely by a homeowner. However, anything involving gas connections, electrical components like the blower motor capacitor, or the heat exchanger should be handled by a licensed technician. Incorrect DIY repairs can create safety hazards including gas leaks or carbon monoxide exposure.

How do I know if my furnace needs repair or full replacement?

If your furnace is more than 15 to 20 years old, requires frequent repairs, produces uneven heat, or has a cracked heat exchanger, replacement is often the more cost-effective path. A technician can evaluate the condition of key components and help you compare the cost of continued repairs against a new installation.

How often should I schedule furnace maintenance?

Annual furnace maintenance is recommended, ideally before winter begins. A yearly tune-up includes inspecting the burner assembly, testing safety controls, checking the blower motor and capacitor, and cleaning components that affect airflow and efficiency. Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your system and reduces the chance of a breakdown during cold weather.

What are signs that my furnace capacitor needs replacement?

Common signs of a failing furnace blower motor capacitor include the blower motor humming but not starting, the fan running intermittently, or the furnace shutting off before reaching the set temperature. A technician can test the capacitor with a multimeter and replace it if it has fallen out of specification.

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Seasons Control. From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire process was seamless and exceeded expectations. Tomar was truly exceptional. He took the time to carefully listen to all of my concerns and specific needs for both my daughter and me. His attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. The installation crew, led by Pablo, delivered outstanding workmanship. Their communication was clear and timely throughout the entire project. I appreciated their integrity and commitment to doing the job right. They treated our home with care and respect, and the end result was high-quality work that we can trust. I highly recommend Seasons Control to anyone looking for a company that combines technical expertise with excellent customer service. Thank you, Tomar and Pablo, for making this such a positive and stress-free experience. Thank You!

Tomer was on time, and very quickly diagnosed our problem. We have an air conditioner that seemed to have a leak and he gave us all scenarios, and explained everything until we understood how it worked and what we could do in the event of anything else happening to it. I believe he saved us money thanks to his great communication. Now, we understand the unit that we currently have, and what all our options are. Tomer gave us a feeling of relief, because he's definetinely a pro at this. We will be using this company again after our experience with Season Control Hesting & Air Conditioner. Like Tomer said "Now YOU control the air, not the AIR controlling you!" Lol!! Thanks again Tomer!

I have recently replaced an almost 30-year-old HVAC with this servicer through multiple quotations. I am so glad to make the right call. Its quotation is very competitive and the technician(Eric) is well-experienced and knowledgeable in walking me through the whole process in detail. Upon installation is complete, they did thorough testing to check if everything went well; and called me a few days later to follow up with the performance of the unit. I could not be happier with this smooth transaction.
